  1. why not go all the way to death penalty as an escalatory potential in exceptional cases? the asymmetric advantage that uncertainty gives to those wrong'uns that exploit that uncertainty (in the event that their conviction and intent is beyond certain) is everything from letby to putin. evil clearly flourishes off the gaslit defences of 'wasn't me' (when it so obviously was), 'didn't happen' (when it so obviously did) and the ultimate - 'well, that's your reality' or 'this is my truth' (when deployed as a justification for extreme wrongdoing). denial clearly plays a huge part in psychopathy and psychopathic behavioural traits and the ability to narcissistically co-opt people into that denial narrative clearly has the potential to increase psychopathic endorsement and psychopathic followers. folk such as letby and putin are volunteering their sorry arses as examples of how not to behave in the 21st century. they know how wrong they are (or simply don't care) and will push other peoples' ignorance of their psychopthic tendencies to exploitation. the state or the the appropriately relevant authorities need to respond accordingly and propotionately. these are individuals going beyond the pale of acceptable human traits to the worst possible extent they can possibly exercise their power over. if caught they need to be stamped on - as individuals and as examples. underplaying and underreacting against such actions is as immoral and unethical (whether through the cover of guilt and corruption or whether through a fear of overreacting) as apologising for on behalf like a fake advocate or appeasing as a licence to extend their abuse (where it is manifestly clear it will not stop). no limit applications to the departments of depravity and iniquity must be made to have a limit. or their no limit policies of [insert crime - actual crime, not just legal crime] will continue and continue to spread.
