  1. hate to say it but please don't try to british iran, it comes across like an englishman in a baseball cap. that said, an apology is not necessary (hence the britishness) because no government is the fault of a people, it is the representative will of the people. obviously, not all definitions of 'people' agree. if the representative will collapses then government can change. if not then change is not fundamental. it should be clear (or at least it should be evident) by now that collapsing the iranian regime (on a theoretical level at least) could be done in a moment's notice. a prelude to this would be the UK proscribing the IRGC. if (a big IF currently) that happens (proscription as a declaration of enemy intent - status update) then the iri has to choose: fight or flight. if iri and the irgc choose fight they have internal and external forces to contend with. if they choose flight they have a soviet-communist-ussr-like implosion to deal with. either way it is a regime choice - the 45 yo iranian regime that is.
