  1. Most of you are too optimistic. It's surely around 2050 if not a decade later with this rate of progress. Cars are not something you buy every 5 years, you drive a single car for decades and as of now, i believe, non-electric cars are still overwhelmingly sold compared to electric. First we need to reach the point where electric cars are the majority on the market (surely 5+ years) and from that point on you count 20-30 years for them to become majority on streets, as people slowly replacie their non-electric cars bought between 2010-2025,... 20-30 years, unless manfucaturing electric cars becomes so much easier than non-electric cars (electric cars become much cheaper), which i dont see a reason why would it, and/or government gets involved because of global warming.
