  1. I believe that the more gold is manipulated into false prices, the less it will be respected as a set value for trade.

  2.  @joconst2880  yes, it is considered a tier 1 asset, but that is just a name to make it seem to be worth more in usage. But, to some oil is a tier 1 asset, others believe that foods are tier 1. Meanings are only real if they are needed..
