The number of homes built post-WWII fell off of a cliff, Right to Buy, the failure to replenish stock, etc, etc made that far worse and what's left is unaffordable/ unsafe. Why Oli felt the need to bring up immigration when the problem was chronic already is beyond me.

​​ @lewis123417 I didn't say it was the cause though, nor that immigration doesn't put any pressure on an already chronic shortage. The highest number was 900,000 for one, single year. If you can, please see my reply to AshenVictor's comment and you can have a look at what I'm referring to, rather than fighting that strawman you constructed.
