I worked for a multinational bank and they set-up multiple WhatsApp groups, as well as very frequent Zoom calls, despite plenty of news stories at the time of the latter getting p0rnbombed_hacked during the pandemic. The banks never let legality_policy get in the way of their profits. Years ago, Barclays knowingly processed a huge illegal payment with the reasoning that even IF they got caught the resulting fine would hardly dent the profit made. Whether it's the public, private sector or indeed rich individuals fines are purely the cost of doing exactly what you want. Laws, etc are for the rest of us.
