  1. As you say. . .a state pension is the result of paying all of your working life, in the hope that once you retire, you will have something to live on... it's not a benefit!! My father died aged 64, so didn't see any of the 'benefit'. A lot of people now, live beyond 65 and this has become an embarrassment to the government, who, no doubt would like the retirement age raised to 75!! 🤔
