  3. Well said Sir!! We are now burning wood pellets (cat litter) at an astronomical rate, from timber in North America that's brought over by ships, consuming diesel fuel. This, then has to be converted into said pellets, for the power stations!! How does this compare to the carbon footprint of coal mined in Britain?? 🤔

  13. During the 1960's and before, the railway network was slashed by around two thirds, courtesy of a person from ICI, who had no knowledge of railways. Two main line routes (The Great Central and one via the Peak District.) Both had connections to Manchester and would have provided an alternative, albeit not as rapid in the case of the Peak District route. Both routes were well established and there would not have been any necessity to destroy structures and land that the HS2 would have. Needless to say, both routes were deemed duplications and were closed.
