  1. If a diesel powered vehicle is looked after, it's nothing unusual to expect 300,000 miles of service. The latest models are a lot cleaner, due to the particulate filters etc. Compare this to an electric vehicle, costing twice as much and where the battery life is estimated at 7-10 years and a hefty bill for their replacement, it makes me wonder if this is the correct option. The rare metals that are used in the production of the batteries is another factor. These are not infinite.
