  2. Many years ago, it was mooted that the Tories would eventually scrap the NHS and create a U.S. style insurance scheme. This is gradually coming true, as more and more people are forced to pay for private treatment. The Tories used to say that "The NHS is safe in our hands". It's certainly not looking that way now!
