we were actually ALLOWED to wander off and play on our own, without the risk of someone calling Child Services on us.

@nickmauldin8825 Hmmm... Maybe that's one of the reasons I listen to Vocaloid and Touhou doujin music these days? But then again, even there someone will talk about some track only released in 2015 as something they listened to as a kid... I get the same thing with Anime. I'll just discover some show from 2007, and the comments under a video about it will say it was a show from their childhood. Meanwhile the anime from MY childhood would be "Tetsujin 28-Go" (AKA "Gigantor") or "Mach GoGoGo" (AKA "Speed Racer"). Of course the interest there is to now see what the un-molested original language versions were like.

@goodun2974 Well, you DO tend to remember the better songs from the past. Back in the 60's & 70's we also had Bobby Goldsboro and Minnie Ripperton. Once the 80's came along I was just listening to "alternative" music, and stuck with that mindset. And the stuff I listen to these days is never going to get played on American radio.

@2Consumed "... 🎶 "Go Speedracer Go-oo!!" 🎶 ..." Did you want to hear the long version of the song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaWftaGAvpU The joke in the naming is that "go" means "five", and that the appended "-go" is a reference to machinery, plus the main character was named "Go Mifune" (thus why there's an "M" on the hood of the car, for "Mifune Motors".

@cabdriver4103 "Kimba the While Lion". A classic cartoon from Osamu Tezuka. Famous now for Disney ripping it off (you can guess which movie)
