  1. And even if the building is staffed 24/7, a fire can start in a part of the building where no one is at that moment. Doesn't change the fact that it was a lithium battery that started it. Look, I'm all in favor of electric vehicles and electric equipment as one option out of many. But a lemming rush towards all-electric when the failures of those systems can easily turn fatal is ill-considered at best, and potentially criminal. The problem is that the politicians legislating this will never be held criminally responsible for the deaths they cause.

  3. But by then we'll be forced back to the horse and buggy (at which point they'll be complaining about the methan from the horse manure). Of course, destroying our ability to have functional and safe vehicles is merely part of the World Economic Forum's push to eliminate the middle class.

  5. Now, if their government wanted to be intelligent about this (yeah,, I know, "government" and "intelligent" <g>) they would have a discounted mileage tax for pluggable hybrids. It would work towards their goal of electrification. But it's FAR easier for bureaucrats to legislate than to think. Or, to make things simpler (appropriiate for simple-minded bureaucrats), eliminate the roads tax on fuel, and ONLY have a mileage tax. But never expect government to remove taxes. Here in the USA it took *108 years* to remove a surcharge for financing the Spanish-American War.
