  1. When you point out that "Rome fell...", I'm wondering if that's the point we're at now. Rome had a democratic system, but eventually it devolved into emperors and a small group at the top dictating how the country would run. Failed incursions into foreign territories, flashy shows to cover up the corruption a the top, over-extendinf themselves, etc. All so much like what we're seeing here.
