Some years back I had helped someone who had never used a PC before (retired, and I think they had only used terminals before) set up their first PC (running XP as I remember). They had just as much trouble finding their way around MSWindows as the naysayers say people moving to Linux would have.

@BandanazX That's how my systems are done. They're either homebuilt (new or used parts) or are used machines I'm repurposing. I have a MacBook Pro which I mainly picked up (used, with a hacked install, Catalina Patcher) just in case I needed to run something under MacOS. And you know, pretty much everything installed on it is Open Source software I also have on Linux.
