Now when they say "thousands" of derailments per year, just what percentage involves railcars overturned and broken open vs one or more railcars slipped off the rails and had to be re-railed? Because a simple incident of a railcar dragging it's wheels along the sleepers is a derailment, and does tie up that track until it can get put back in place. So when "Mayor Pete" spouts off numbers, they're meaningless without context. Of course, I'm sure he doesn't know the answer either, and just repeats what some actually competent staffer (or at least partially competent) told him.
