  1. I'm not a fan of Kanye West's music (Japanese trance/techno, Vocaloid, and various doujin circles are more my thing), and had thought of him as just another rapper with an attitude. But I find myself gaining more respect for him all the time. I may disagree with him on various points (I'm Pro-Choice, mainly because I consider it a societal necessity), but I can respect someone from the other side who acts from deeply held beliefs and convictions (and I believe that is a particular issue that needs strong support from both sides). Wanting to be close to his kids even though he's no longer married to their mother, there's a simple, basic sense of caring and responsibility you just don't see from the self-absorbed and immature 'far-left'.
