  1. Just remember, the term "Skid Row", originally "Skid Road" (now called Yesler Way) originated in Seattle. When we lived there in the 1970's "Skid Row" was just a bit further down, near Pioneer Square. We visited again 30 years later and it seemed to have cleaned things up, but I guess they could never escape being the ones that gave us Skid Row.
