  1. They've been sucking on the public teat for so long they don't want to get weaned off. I can understand how they feel they will get steamrolled by change, but their country is dying, and it will take hard and painful measures to survive. We'll have to take hard measures here in the US soon as well (probably not as extreme, but more than a few feathers will be ruffled).

  3. It isn't about protecting election workers. It's all about protecting illegitimate election results (because questioning the results of an election will now get treated as harassment or threats).

  4. And additionally, even if you implement multiple-day voting (I could readily accept that option), NONE of the vote totals should be reported until ALL the voting is done. I'm sure the news agencies would hate that, but life's tough all over.

  7. We should just be respecting everybody's personal rights and choices, but understanding that **NO** single group has more rights than any other. ANY form of preferential treatment is wrong in a free society. We need to be judging people on their own individual actions and how they interact in a civilized society. What happens between two consenting adults is their own business, and just as it isn't our business, we also don't want to hear about it.

  9. The problem isn't gender reassignment in itself. But it is a choice that should ONLY be made by a well-informed consenting ADULT. Not something to be decided on a whim, and not something to be forced on children still trying to understand themselves.

  14. A MAJOR reason there isn't a strong movement towards third parties is because news organizations like THIS are either too lazy or too CORRUPT to allow anything other than the two-party fraud we have now. Part of it is also because too many voters are cowards, afraid of any sort of change.

  16. Back in the late 60's, my dad, my brother and I were crossing the street in front of a bus station, passing in front of a parked bus. Suddenly I felt this whoosh of air right behind me. We turned to see the bus we had just walked by go rolling across the street and crash into a telephone pole. Seems the brakes picked just that moment to fail.

  19. I will admit I wasn't a fan of Reagan when he was president. I didn't understand what he was trying to do, I didn't understand economics, etc. These days I don't see a candidate with the Demopublicans OR Republicrats I could support. Thankfully I can vote Libertarian (unless, of course the criminal administration & legislature in New York manage to shut third parties out like they did in the 2022 election)

  25.  @alindasue  How many MORE Israelis AND Palestinians will end up dead if Hamaas is allowed to continue? Hamas took all that humanitarian aid that was meant to help their own people and turned it towards a fanatical mission of hate. Their own people have suffered because of Hamas' actions.
