  2. And the US government has been STUPID regarding Taiwan. On one hand we're hearing how Taiwan is an important ally, yet the US government refuses to recognize Taiwan as an autonomous independent country, and keep saying they support a "One China" policy. How is thet supposed to work? If Taiwan isn't recognized as it's own government, a "One China" policy implies the US endorses the CCP taking over Taiwan. We already know how that worked out for Hong Kong.
