Cat ears? Come on, Azusa Nakano looked cute in the cat ears (and I have family members that do the 'furry' cosplay, even though they're not programmers) That said, considering C and C++ have decades more development than Rust, I wouldn't expect Rust to readily integrate into a long-standing kernel. And I'm not a programmer either. Rust is still at the "fad" stage, and has quite a long ways to prove itself as an established and stable language. I see no problem with experimental builds of Rust kernels; it might even expose glaring flaws in Rust, C or even the kernel. But even as a non-developer, I can see it needs to prove itself. I almost get the impression these folks are equating C and C++ with "toxic masculinity" and "white supremacy", while Rust is representational of DEI and equity.
