  1. The probem then comes when you need a scanner*. I really don't think there are any more *consumer-grade flatbed scanners being made anymore. Sure, professional-grade scanners are available, at a premium price. Prices that are well out of the average home user or small business. They WANT you to have to buy those AiO printers to get scanning functionality. A scan-function-only device doesn't shut down when it runs out of ink, because it doesn't HAVE ink. And they can't have that.
