  1.  @juancarrillo1270  That was my thought too. Even back when Japan was the "low-cost manufacturing" country (before China) they took some pride in what they made. Early on their products may have been a bit crude in their construction, but they gave it their best effort to make the best with what they had. China, OTOH, cranks out whatever is the cheapest (in more than one use of that word) and laziest they can do. There is so much corruption at all levels of government that it's the only way a manufacturer can afford to make anything. And as they abuse and exploit their workers, those workers logically have no incentive to improve the products, or even care if they're good, bad, or even dangerous. One thing that shows just how different the products are between the two countries; look at the collectability of toys made in Japan or China. The clunky old stamped metal Japanese toys of the 50's and 60's are in much higher demand. Granted, Sony, Nintendo, etc have had plenty of "asshole" moments.
