Comments by "James LaBarre" (@SenileOtaku) on "Why are franchise repair companies horrible at repair?" video.
At least when I screw up board-level work it's my own hardware I'm messing up, my own responsibility. Replacing whole parts in systems I've done plenty of times over the past 30 years, but last time I did any board work was replacing capacitors on motherboards (working in the zSeries test lab, I actually had decent equipment to do it with), and that was 11 years ago.

" ..... It's like taking your car to a dealer to have it "repaired"!! WHY? ....." You mean like taking your car to a franchise repair shop (not naming names, lets just call them "Wavis") for a charging problem. Towards the end of the day you call them (because they never called you back to tell you what the diagnosis was) and say "it's the alternator, we can't fix it". Seriously? A repair shop can't change an alternator?
