A friend who grew up in Scottsdale AZ in the 1930's/40's said in the stores would jack up their prices during tourist season, and all the locals would only buy on credit accounts where THEY would be charged the regular 'locals' prices rather than the posted tourist prices. (this would have been before Scottsdale got absorbed into the Phoenix Metroplex)

  2. That's when I say "then I'm not interested in it" for items that scan too high or (in the case of non-priced items) end up being priced more than I think they should be. They get to re-stock them then.
