I thought there was work being done on ceramic parts (the pistons themselves, as an example) for engine applications. Ceramic being more heat and wear resistant (whth the downside being prone to shattering from impacts). So as long as the ceramic part has simple stresses on it and isn't likely to be impacted they could be used (and probably a lot cheaper than trying to make an equivalent part in carbon fiber).

Seems like you could have started your reply to those posters at 19:45 <g>. Ine problem with the suggestions of hydroelectric power is all the same tree-huggers pushing electric cars also are demanding the demolition of those hydroelectric dams, and blocking nuclear power. In the end I know what this is REALLY about; it's the globalists who are upset that we are a people with a strong sense of individuality and mobility, while they are pushing for a return to the dark days of a small number of feudal lords and a multitude of peasants to serve them.
