NYC is on an ocean. Technology has advanced to where desalination should be an economic option, and they wouldn't have to trample on the rights of others (but that wouldn't be NYC-like, if they couldn't look down on everyone else).

NYC wants to take everything they can.

Probably because if planes could fly in any random location it would be all that much harder to keep track of them, and probably result in more collisions. The pilots themselves would have to constantly look for planes operating in unexpected locations. With specific flight corridors they'll have more of an expectation of what normal operations will be.

But I don't get the idea of moving the research facility from a readily isolated island to someplace right in the center of the country, and right in farming country. Maybe to have a facility closer to where outbreaks of animal diseases might start, but I still think having a facility that can be quarantined quickly. Maybe it's just some Kansas politician trying to get Federal money into their state.

And just like NYC, Los Angeles is FAR closer to the ocean than the other places it steals it's water from. You'd think for all it costs to build yet another aqueduct that they could build a desalination plant for less. And whatever minerals they extract could be used to re-salinate (is there such a word) whatever their sewage treatment plant is pouring back into the ocean. But get the likes of Dictator Gavin Newsome to do something that doesn't involve stomping on the rights of others? Not likely.

@Finallyfree423 Yep, typical arrogant crap attitude of someone from NYC.

Not a Sears house, but a house adjoining our property (I think the lot used to be part of ours) is a Bennett kit house. We even used to have the gatalog it was bought from. Unfortunately when some builder bought it from the estate, they changed it so much it no longer had the character of the original configuration.

That's right, NYC has been stealing water from it's 'upstate' neighbors for 2 centuries or more at this point. This from a city that sits on an OCEAN.

At one time the thugs in the Board of Water Supply were all set to flood parts of Patterson NY for a reservoir, I guess it was too expensive for the amount of water they'd have gotten out of it.

This is typical of the attitude of NYC, that they can stomp all over the rights of everyone else for their own self-serving needs. Especially so for anything economic or political in New York State. NYC would slaughter entire counties if it served their needs. And this is for a city that sits ON THE OCEAN. With modern technology they could build desalination plants to supplement their water supply, but that wouldn't give them the opportunity to sneer down at people who don't live in their cesspool of a city. It's long past time to kick NYC out of NY State, and then start charging NYC rent for the reservoirs they built under force and corruption.
