  4. The reason we rarely have eye control is because you need to build in delay into buttons to make sure you don't accidentally click things. People hate delays to actions. In comparison having a small remote with instantaneous buttons will just always feel better, that's why every VR set has a controller. If you want it to be hands free, then probably you want some linked micro-movement jaw controls like in the original Starship Troopers book.

  5. It's because bank robberies are about tension and mistakes. That's a great combo to watch, you're on oins and needles to srr what's going to happen, and everyone can imagine doing what the people are doing. So essentially they don't need to amp it up or make it flashy for iy to be interesting. All those other things in real life are short & brutal or long & boring. Both of which don't really work for movies. Most fights don't last long a few hits and the person is down. Hacking scenes are usually about preparation and knowledge and just happen without people knowing.

Dit woord 'elite' is niet slecht in zichzelf maar omdat het tegenover wordt gezet van 'de bevolking', eigenlijk is 'de bevolking' dus in een heel vage manier gedefinieerd, iedereen die zich niet als 'de elite' voelt, maar wel onderdrukt door 'de elite' voelt. 'De elite' is gewoon een boogeyman, een scapegoat van problemen. 30% van Nederland is hoogopgeleid. De inkomensongelijkheid in Nederland is vrij laag. de top 20% heeft een factor van 2.5 hoger gemiddeld inkomen dan de laagste 20%, en de top 10% is wat hoger 9.2 keer de onderste 10%. Als er elite is in Nederland, dan is het of zo klein (<10%) dat het niet representatief is voor iedereen die tegen de opinies zijn van Wilders, of anders is het zo groot dat het niet uit 'de bevolking' gehaald kan worden.

Maar verder de meeste Nederlander kan wel een goedkope camera (€40-100), een ietsjes duur microfoon (€80-130), een laptop (€300-900) en een gratis video-editing programma vinden. Nou ja elk van die 76% kan een youtube kanaal opzetten zonder kosten. Ze hebben tijd en werk in het kanaal gestoken om wat volgers te krijgen, dat vergt wat ondernemerschap. Alsnog 12,000 volgers is een minimale fractie van Nederlanders, 0,001%, of 1/100 000 mensen. Hun platform is vrij laag, maar alsnog meer dan elk algemene individu. Maar in vergelijking met een Wilders is hun platform minuscuul, dus als zij Elite zijn voor dit getal, dan is Wilders dat zeker. Misschien heeft 'het volk' daar geen probleem mee, dat Wilders elite is Wat voor definitie hang jij aan elite? En zelfs als deze twee 'elite' zijn onder jou definitie, waarom zouden ze niet ook onder 'het volk' vallen?

En ook een aantal plekken war jullie Wilders op zich gelijk geven, wat ik respecteer. Wel vindt ik het analyse van Rutte op TV een beetje minder. Rutte zegt "kinderen vertellen mij", op zich is dit niet heel anders dan hoe Wilders spreekt aan het begin van zijn speech "veel mensen vinden". Het zou een manier kunnen zijn om propaganda te onderbouwen, ik vindt het zelf geen propaganda (jullie waarschijnlijk ook niet), maar voor iemand met een andere wereldbeeld is dit gewoon het zelfde als wat wij Wilders zien doen.

  15. I just wrote a similar thing, but didn't connect it to the nD square. What I realised from this experiment is spheres become less efficient to stack in higher dimensions. Which I guess is equivalent to saying the bounding box in which the spheres need to be stacked is becoming larger and larger in ratio to the spheres. I guess the nD squares are spikier, if you consider the corner of a 3d square (a cube corner) spikier than the corner of a 2d square. I thought about the efficiency of filling the square (even with a single circle), at 2d the circle fills more of the square's area, than in 3d the sphere fills of the cube's radius. Same goes for 4d and higher!

A false positive, which could be very likely to happen, ~50% of the ways they could change the message would have an even number of flips. This seems very bad to me.

It's a multiple of 2 AND (fill in the blank) Options: - all need to be even numbers - all below 100 - all have to have an equal number of digits to eachother - each number has to be at least 2 bigger than the last - etc They weren't trying to disprove multiple of 2, they were looking for additional limitations. It's more an operations thing, they should have first checked that non multiples of 2 also worked or never worked, and made sure to do it by changing as few factors as possible (preferably only 1, but that's quite hard) before looking for additional rules. Then again many puzzles have trained people to look for pedantic exceptions, rather than simple alternatives. (See dumb facebook math puzzle posts.)

The second piece is a perfect conclusion, he just continues the satire. People were actually going to auction off that banana and he just ate it. Turning it back into a meaningless banana. The concept of the first piece was for sale until it wasn't (it would have also gone bad anyways), and the second piece was equivalent in message but couldn't be sold at all. Dat is nou eenmaal niet zo, uiteindelijk komen de plannen voor de tweede kamer, en als de meerderheid voor stemt gaat het door, dat komt voort uit het meerderheid van stemmers. Die 'elite' komt er niet zo maar. Het zijn mensen waarop gestemd wordt, of mensen die hun baan doen als media en kijkers bereiken. Als je in de media wil werken, kan dat makkelijk, als je in de politiek wil werken zijn er ook genoeg ingangen. Vaak moet je iets leren dat daar voor handig is, en dan ergens lokaal aan de werk gaan, en dan omhoogwerken naar een nationale niveau. Het is echt niet zo dicht als jij het inziet. Waarom is Wilders altijd in de oppositie? Omdat hij niet genoeg stemmen krijgt, omdat hij slecht is in coalities vormen, en omdat hij de andere Kamerleden niet kan overtuigen. Punt. Dat maakt hem makkelijk te negeren.

  64. But why is cost of the test not involved? It doesn't take into account any kind of budget, or whether the organisation would be able to afford the tests. This would be relevant to the athletes, because it could affect how likely the organisation is to perform the tests on them, and lead them to dope more again. Meaning the strategy for the organisation is limited to their budget and the drug test they can afford.  Also, if the athlete knows the mixed strategy of the organisation not to test as the quality of the test goes up, wouldn't the increase in quality of the test actually make them more interested in doping? p goes up, sigma goes down, they should dope because they won't be tested. p goes down, sigma goes up, they should dope because the test won't be accurate.

  94. Yeah I remember doing this in physics class with lasers through slits! Since we used a red laser, we only had 1 wavelength, so all the spots were truly spots. We could even go out and measure the distance between the slit an the wall, and the distance between the dots and calculate the wavelength I believe. We also tested light polarisation that day, and I learned how 3D glasses work. Enioy science class kids, it can be really fun!

On one extremity, that forms straight lines (spokes), on the other you see in a sense both clockwise and counterclockwise patterns. A sort of infinitely expanding grid, fractal-ish. That second set of inflections seem quite common, are they all irrational numbers, all in a subset with the golden ratio, or all containing the golden ratio in some way? Some examples of the points I'm seeing are: 0.04444 0.04666 0.04888 (1/20 - spokes) 0.05095 0.0544 0.0607 (2/33) 0.06832 (1/10) 0.10412 0.27548 0.2787 (1/7) 0.29284 0.296095 (3/10) (2/5) 0.41313 There's tons when you're looking for that moment. I notice many have infinitely repeating decimals which makes some sense I suppose (or maybe I have a tendency to want to pick those as the moment).

Some also seem to have a depth where the pattern starts to get laid out. I wonder if there's more defonitions for these various occurences? The perfectly straight spoked ones are pretty obvious if you just use small denominators: 1/8, 1/7, 1/6, 1/5, 2/7, 2/5, 1/4, 3/8, 1/3, 3/7, 1/2, 4/7, 5/8, 3/5, 2/3, 3/4, 5/7, 4/5, 6/7 But of course you can add every "x/prime" and every "(x/n) ± (1/2n)", so there's a LOT of these (a small infinite amount). I guess as the denominator gets bigger though it's harder to see in this display, because the dots are big and varying in size, which makes it confusing. Well anyways if there was exactly 1 inflection that was similarly patterned to the golden ratio between each of these straight spoked patterns it would be that small infinity - 1. But that seems like a big assumption, so I doubt it, otherwise he probably would have told us in the video. More likely I guess there's just sections of these patterns that look like a golden ratio if you zoom out far enough, the section (between 2 distances from the center) around which it swings from clockwise to counterclockwise in our eyes.

  143. Netherlands exports agricultural products, not only veg, but in fact tons of meat and dairy products. Unfortunately these are heavily reliant on imported feed with additional nitrogen, artificial fertiliser and grass monocultures. This along with parasitic bank loans, that require farmers to double their amount of animals. This has lead to a massive excess nitrogen problem in the soil, along with the heavily machined processes, the soil is practically dead, dutch farmers pump nutrients into the soil to try and get any product out, but it is a very fragile system. Fragile to insects and diseases which leads to more ways to kill insects,, and fragile to frosts and downpours. Most small farmers can't keep up and are being priced out by massive cattle farms and fertiliser companies. Bad for the soil, bad for the food, bad for the farmers, bad for the climate, bad for the Netherlands. The only people benefiting from this process are the bankers, the lobbyers, and a few mass-corporate farm owners. Most farmers regret it now, but are stuck in their loans and with their destroyed soil. There were huge strikes just before covid in 2019.

In the 3rd dimension, the distance between 2 spheres diagonally is no longer the radius of the sphere but the radius of a cut somewhere lower than halfway the sphere, so the actual radius can be bigger. In fact all it seems to tell me is 4d and higher d spheres are actually so smooth in a way, that they leave even more space wasted. Is that where the 11800 comes from? (my low end is 11900 then, so feels pretty sensible.)
