The prices are very high for russians. Because of that there are only a few shopping trolleys, people can not afford full-sized carts like you.

Me too!!! I would prefer to live very closed to the shelf with beer and chips.😊

The prices are high for russians. Therefore you can see only a few customers and only a few trolleys.

Thre are no sanctions on groceries and never been!
2
There are no sanctions on groceries!
2
Did you see any customers in the video? Your fridge stays full until you take something out 😊.

There are two TYPICAL things in Russia. 1. TYPICAL bill, a supermarket clerc will recieve in a pizzeria in Moscow at the weekend: Pizza Diabolo 4.40 € Salat Kaprese 3.90 € 2 Pilsener beer 6.20 € Tiramisu 3.10 € Espresso 1.40 € Tip 1.50 € In Total 20.50 € 2. TYPICAL salary of a supermarket clerk according to the add in the beginning of the video: Salary before taxes 520 € tax 13% Salary after taxes 452.40 € Salary per day 20.56 € Oh wait, eat pizza once=salary per day. A little brain teaser. How many days has to work a russian supermarket clerk for an pizza lunch with the family of four people. But never mind, electricity makes only 2 € 😂.
2
The most of people? Nop, according RBK the market for food delivery in Russia was about 3.8% in 2023, in Moscow and Sankt-Petersburg ca. 5%.
2
@АНДРЕЙ3500 You meen, russian people who do not afford food are victims of propaganda and russophobia? May be, I don't know.
2
If you from abroad and would like compare the prices in your country with prices in Moscow. You have to know, a clerk in a supermarket in Moscow earns 2,72 €/hour (48.000 rubels/month after tax of 13%). E.g. for a bottle of olive oil he have to work 2.5 hours, or 0.6 hours for a kilogramm bananas. In Germany a clerk at LIDL (german food discounter) earns after tax and insurance of 30% 11,4 €/hour or 2.000 €/month. For a bottle of olive oil he has to work 40 min and for a kg bananas 8,5 min.
2
@zanevskiy The life in Western country's e.g. Australia and Russia is very different. Human development index is 5 for e.g. Australia and 52 for Russia. The rank 1 is the best.
2
@sadsack8396 What kind of fresh food?! Tomatoes, potatos, bananas or a can of beans, chees in a vacuum box 😂? Of course you can buy food for are whole week. A lot of people in Western and Eastern Europe countries are going to the farmer markets once a week to buy fresh vegetables. Farmer markets be held weekly.
2
Sorry, but price comparison is pointless without wage comparison.
1
Yes, because in Russia there are supermarkets 😂.
1
@TravellingwithRussell For the clerk at a russian supermarket the prices three-four times higher than for a clerk at e.g. austrian supermarket .
1
A TYPICAL Pyatyorochka has 400 square meters. The supermarket in this video is, of course, not a typical Pyatyorochka, this one has about 1000 square meters.
1
Where are you live in "Eastern Europe"? Don't you have Aldi, Kaufland? In Western Europe we pay for bananas 1,39€/kg (no name). Chiquita bananas cost 1,99 €/kg.
1
Salaries are not good compared to America!
1
If you get the russian minimum wage, you have to work ONE hour to do one pack of Toffifee 😂.
1
@junglesuperstar9270 According to the vice premier Ms Golikova 6 mil. russians earn less than minimum wage (report from june 2023).
1
God forbid to try this "bread" you saw in this video.
1
Unfortunately there are no customers who consume all the healthy and delicious things 😊. A lot of shelfs have products only in a one row, but no customers yet. All the customers should arrive after work at 17.00 h, video said. So at 17.10 h a lot of shelfs in the cooling racks are getting empty. So sad!
1
I hope for the autor of this video he will be never unimployed in Russia. The maximum unemployement benefit in Russia is 130 € (12,700 rubels). So you have 4.30€/day available. OMG!
1
@BagginsFedor No one is immune to unemployemend. If you Company is going bunkrupt you have to look for a suitable job. It can take a few months. In Western countries you are paying an unemployment insurance if you have a job. If you are looking for a job you get enough money to live with dignity.
1
@junglesuperstar9270 No customers=full shelves, that's the point. As you can see many shelves in cooling racks have one row of products only. So if customers will arrive after work, many shelves are getting empty withhin minutes.
1
@junglesuperstar9270 Nope, I'll let it be done.
1
Awesome, you can draw conclusions about the quality of the food, if you are watching a video about the food? 😊
1
Food market is a global one. Russians have the same inflation on groceries like US or EU.

1
That's more than understandable. If there are no customers, there is no turnover of goods.
1
It could be two things, why the situation is better now. First in Russia they have real farmers now, in the USSR they had ineffective collective farms (kolchos) and secondly, a barrel of oil costs 80 $, in 1990 the price was 20 $. Russia earns all the money with oil trade now, very similar like 1990. I dont know, wich of them (farmers or oil) has been more important.
1
Yes, it is.

Are there reports in Canada about food problems in Russia? Can you send are link?
1
You need to move to Russia! Do it!
1
Don't forget: The minimum wage in Russia is about 195 €/month or 9€/day before taxes.
1
user-zc2jj2ow3r In Austria you pay 250€ = 40€ elektricity + 60€ gas + 20€ water + 130€ insurances, garbage, lift, gardener... The austrian minimum wage AFTER taxes is about 64 €/day or 1.400 €/month.
1
In Russia it's the same like in each poor country. You have a lot of small grocery stores, where people is buying the most nessesary food in small quantities. The most of russian can't afford to spend at once 100 € for food like in the EU or US. The another reason is lack of cars to go to a large shopping mall.
1
Compared to the salaries the food is very expensive in Russia. The good thing about it, food will not be wasted so much like in the EU and US.
1
Now I know why a clerk in a russian supermarket earns only 520 €. They have little to do. All shelfs are always full, no customers who are disruptive and the air conditioning is running during the summer.
1
Not only western water but western air is very-very bad too. Do not forget to take your oxygen bottle wth fresh russian air if you are visiting Cologne or Vienna next time.
1
A clerk in a supermarket in Moscow makes 2.7 € per hour after tax. A clerk in Kursk makes 1.6 € per hour.
1
If I compare with Austria or Germany, for a store manager in Russia are the prices in the video very expensive. According to the add on the front earns a store manager in Pyatyorochka 750 €/month, after taxes of 13% about 650 €/month. A store manager at LIDL food duscounter earns in Germany 5,230 €/month or 3,300 after taxes and insurances of 37%. So the german makes 5 times more money. The prices in this store are 20-30 % less than in Germany, so a german store manager can afford almost four times more than a russian one. Btw. why is the butter so expensive in Russia?
1
@Marek-Pshebyshebski I guess the german store manager? In Germany he is paying 40-45 €/month with 125 kwh/month, 1,500 kwh/year. How much does 1,500 kwh in Moscow cost?
1
@Marek-Pshebyshebski Ok, thanks. Energy is cheaper in Moscow than in Germany or Austria. Can I ask you please why do you pay only 50% of your bills?
1
@Marek-Pshebyshebski It is not about you. It is about the poor Russians living in a country wich 50 times bigger than Germany but only with 50% car availability.
1
@slnik1853 Russians for last 100 years: We will have best aircrafts, we will have best cars, we will have best... Nothing has happened for 100 years, all goods come from the West and last few years from China. Russia "produces" only two "products" Oil and Gas.
1
@nikiforoff86 According to Putin in 2020 the russian "middle class" has 17.000 rubels/month or 240€ at the exchange rate of 2020. 😂
1
@TravellingwithRussell A lot of google sites are showing these figures. Try with "Путин средний класс". You will get dozenes from march 2020.
1
It is a propaganda video how the "sanctions do not work". There is nothing more.
1
@sadsack8396 An average shopping cart size is a key figure in the food trade. In poor country's and at times of the high Inflation is the average shopping cart size less than in the rich country's.
