Hey!! Somewhere along the line, you think you might be able to see your way to teaching these academic masters of the future how to read and write actual words, and do basic math without a calculator?

I couldn't agree more!!! No drugs, fights, gang warfare, less teen pregnancy, and the taxes would go down considerably in our country, although the democrats would, of course, scream that the money is needed elsewhere.

@falgalhutkinsmarzcal3962 Really? I live in St. Louis, and I can tell you right now that I see this same behavior in kids who went to public schools here. They can't read, do math without a calculator, and are lazy as hell. They do not deserve the minimum wage that was paid ten years ago.

@falgalhutkinsmarzcal3962 I know what basic math and reading skills are. Teach the basics first, if you can. Then we can discuss if my tax dollars should be spent on other "things"...

@ceasebean5589 Tesla would be a better example, all the way around, as, among other things, he also provides proof of the underhanded way America treats both immigrants and genius.

@ceasebean5589 For one thing, he is the man mainly responsible, through his advanced knowledge of electricity, for the standard of living we have today. World wide. Mot Edison. Not Marconi. Not Bell. Not any damn financier, (with the possible exception of Carnegie, who personally funded every original library in this country) And his reward? He got screwed by businessmen. Silenced, and quite possibly, an idea foe free energy is locked away, not to be used until the oil supply is depleted.
