  3. Back in the day, the city refused the merger, not the county, as the city felt that it would cost too much to handle the infrastructure needed for the fast growth of the country. Short-sightedness cost the city plenty in tax revenue over the decades, so we lost, and you guys in the county dodged a major bullet!!!
