Damn, the only safe way to handle this is to be sure that the person in question is informed and aware of the ramifications of subjecting your body to this kind of "change". The only way we have done this, because other important decisions come up in a person's life that will affect them and the people they live with, and around, is to do what we've always done. Set an age where we feel that person has learned enough to make good decisions in life, and the accepted age is 18. Or older, in some cases. Accept it. Like YOU expect US to accept purple-haired he-she's....
