The "401K" retirement program really sucks when you have to cash out. They take forever, and I can only figure that they also lose money if you cash out early, and want to keep your share until the next quarter earnings come in. It's only a theory, but when I quit my job and wanted to cash mine in, it took 2 months, and my former employer had no information on why. I knew it wasn't the employer's fault, so WTF was the problem???
