  3.  @joeschmo6882  Four years after Carter, we were doing much better, Reagan got re-elected, and a bunch of crooks convinced a bunch of idiots to put their money into a deregulated S&L scheme that Reagan said was going to be "welfare" for these institutions!! He warned us, and WE didn't listen!!
