J LS DeSantis shouldn't have said anything about it in the first place. Unless someone works for him, he has no right to tell someone else to take off a mask that person is voluntarily wearing.

Not every voter in Florida (including myself) voted for DeSantis. And if we, as a state, have an ounce of brains between us, we'll be voting him out this November.

@stevemasterson7776 If you wouldn't want DeSantis to tell your kid that he/she had to wear a mask against your better judgement, then you shouldn't want him to tell anyone else's kid that she/he has to take off a mask.

J LS I hope you didn't give yourself a black eye after your knee jerked so hard from assuming my political views. I was born in Florida, have family here, partially raised here, and spent the last 35 years here. I love Florida. It's the people that are running it I have problems with. The "large majority" love DeSantis? Thanks for the best laugh I had all day. You do remember that he barely won against Gillum back in 2018 by approximately 33,000 votes?

If I was a parent of one of those kids, I would've been on the phone to his office ASAP to tell him (actually a staff member, I'm sure) that as someone who's supposedly in favor of parents making decisions for their kids instead of government, he had no right to tell my (hypothetical) kid to take off her/his mask.
