Mr Misanthrope And what was Catherine before she married William? 🙄

Rina Moree Considering that Harry's own father is divorced and married another divorced person, I don't think anyone within the Royal Establishment is going to bring that up as an objection to the marriage. And what does Meghan's ancestry have to do with anything?

witch, please How about people who don't care if she's African, European, or a pink and purple striped unicorn as long as they are happy? How does that make you feel?

Mr Misanthrope Rich, definitely. However, I seem to remember the press making a big deal out of Catherine's non-aristocratic background before her marriage.

Mr Misanthrope I'm not sure if there's a set-in-stone definition as to who is a commoner, but I would imagine that if you don't have a title or at least have a parent or grandparent who has one, most people who care about things like that would consider you a commoner. A suitable partner for a Royal? Looking at it from a total outsider's perspective, I would say that if the partner is expected to take up any Royal duties, some ideal qualities would be that he or she be friendly, not prone to crippling stage fright, able to think before he/she speaks extemporaneously, etc... .

Christian Snow If ancestry was still very important to the British Royal Family, there's quite a few people that wouldn't have been allowed to marry into it. Mike Tindall (Zara Phillips' husband), the Duchess of Cambridge, Autumn Phillips (Peter Phillips' wife), and the Countess of Wessex are just a few I can think of off the top of my head.

AWResistance No, he probably won't, but there's always the possibility that he could be regent for a minor King George.

Claude Williams Even if I thought Melania was ugly, her physical attractiveness is a million times more beautiful than the atrocious entity you call a soul.
