@jonathangeorge787 The point I was trying to make was that no American politician is going to physically discipline his / her child in public. That would end up being a major PR nightmare.

@afgzee2011 A pacifier can have numerous names depending on the area you live in and whatever an individual family decides to call it. I grew up calling it a binki (not sure of the spelling, I think it was the brand name of the pacifier my parents used for me). And within the area I live in now, the two most popular names I hear are "paci" (short for "pacifier") and "ninnie" (not sure what the origin of that is).

@daremz101 Again, I'm not saying that I think it's okay for older kids to have pacifiers, I was just making an observation.
