  1. In the early 1990s, the Queen was visiting the US and was scheduled to meet with President Bush (Senior) to make some public remarks. Whoever set up the podium did so with the 6 foot President in mind and not the foot (give or take) shorter Queen. When it was her turn to speak, all you could see looking straight at the podium was her hat. Later in the tour, the Queen addressed a Joint Session of Congress. The very first words she said were along the lines of "I do hope you can see me today."
