0:39 -- What Dara says: "Keep it festive!" What the comedians hear: "Try to get as dark, depressing, and/or gross as you can without triggering the wrath of the production team and/or the BBC." π

I'm American and Blackadder is the main thing that springs to my mind when Atkinson's name is mentioned.

2:13 -- Yep, that's pretty much what I hear when any politician speaks.

I used to work in a grocery store and after seeing this, I had to keep myself from laughing every time a customer bought Fosters.

I have a sneaking suspicion that once Charles ascends the throne, that crowd on the balcony will be thinned out some. He's supposedly on record as wanting to downsize the Royal Family to just him, Camilla, his sons and their families.

The one about being the token Black friend reminded me of a bit either Richard Pryor or Chris Rock used to do to explain why you never saw Black people in horror movies. It was way funnier the way the comedian told it, but it went basically like this: White teenagers are having a party in the woods when they hear spooky noises. Their response: "Let's go check it out!" Black teenagers are having a party in the woods when they hear spooky noises. Their response: "Let's get out of here!"

The first line may not be the funniest, but it's definitely the one that best fits the topic.
75
I suspect that when Charles becomes king, that balcony will become less crowded. It'll probably just be him, Camilla, his sons and their families.
65
+Sophia Cheng I thought Matt was going to smack Benedict in the face at one point. : D
64
3:45 -- Here in the US, there used to be a calendar called "Porn for Women" that showed good looking, fit guys doing things like washing the dishes, vacuuming, etc... .
50
Hugh's line about Clara unzipping the Doctor's fly sounds like the premise of a promising fanfic.
43
0:18 -- I think that's why certain weather reporters here in the US always seem to get sent out to where hurricanes are about to hit. π
36
Or at least a sneak peek at the Christmas special.
32
+Shubshub She's done way better Lauren sketches than this. Her delivery wasn't as fast paced as what's normal for a Lauren bit.
24
+Carlie Pool Too bad we never heard Donna say that during her time as companion.
23
I didn't think about this until the male announcer mentioned that Prince William expressed a wish that all of his children would somehow become involved with the military, but wouldn't it be fascinating if Princess Charlotte decided to make a career in one of the branches? She'd be the first British princess to do so.
22
I like both yours and the UK's as well as my American one (of course π).
21
@charliemacdonald9879 Funny, I could've sworn that I watched the 12th Doctor regenerate into the 13th.
21
The only member of Meghan's immediate family who has any class. And, yes, her outfit was perfect.
20
Agreed. The description in the video suggests this is a drama, but the trailer suggests it's a comedy.
20
The actual topic ("Things That Would Chnage the Atmosphere at a Dinner Party") doesn't quite match the title above ("Commericals That Never Made It to Air").
20
Ever wonder if Patrick Stewart really had thoughts like that once in a while?
18
The real shame is being obsessed by numbers that have no bearing on your life.
18
+Zombie Apocal4pse And how would you know? Did you pop into a TARDIS and go forward to next year when the new series starts?
17
There are a lot of fans who would pay good money to smack that bottom themselves. π
16
More like gave us a warning that we didn't heed.
15
Because people need a freaking break every once in a while from the gloom and doom. Besides, who says that by having a few hours worth of enjoyment means that you've suddenly stopped caring about everything else in the world? π
14
+paddygirl It could be argued that Sherlock itself is an AU fanfiction of the original Victorian era stories. Both are awesome. : )
13
+Chiko was here Yes, this is an one off special. The regular series won't be back until 2017 (last I read).
13
+Toma βHeavyCakeβ Hawk I love Cumberbatch's version of Sherlock, but the definitive Sherlock Holmes for me will always be Jeremy Brett. Toma, if you ever get a chance to see Brett's series, do so. I promise you'll change your mind about who "owns" Sherlock.
12
+Radculas I was wondering if anyone else noticed that bit at the beginning. : )
12
+Noah Blumenthal More proof that Moffat is the love child of Moriarty and the Master. ; D
12
David might find one of the people in the picture behind Katherine quite familiar.
12
With Donna being his (paid Β£120,000 and five week holiday) assistant.
12
Either Mary knows her husband doesn't watch her videos or she's going to have to find a new hiding place for her chocolate. π
12
+Irshaad Mohammed That reminds me of a quote that was attributed to the late Princess Margaret. She supposedly said that when she took her children to museums, she'd let them see only three works of art per visit because she'd rather have them begging to see more than become bored with it.
11
+Josh McDonald That and all the comments insisting that since Sherlock is in the Victorian era, the Doctor has to be involved somehow. I'd love to see a Doctor Who / Sherlock crossover as much as the next person, but if it ever happens, it probably won't be as a full episode or special. My guess is that it would be a sketch for Children in Need or Comic Relief.
11
@lsmith9249 Tara's just repeating what the character, Melchett, said. If it bothers you that much, take it up with whoever wrote the script.
11
I wouldn't swear to this, but I think it was a reference to something that was said during this episode.
11
@ipellaers You could've just said they weren't funny. Bringing up their race makes you no better than the people you're complaining about who booked them.
11
The best way I can describe Brett's performance is this: Pretend there's a sci fi machine that can scan a book and reproduce a character from that book in human form. That machine scanned the Sherlock Holmes stories and spit out Jeremy Brett.
10
After two kids, I'm sure David's wife doesn't have any complaints about the size of his sonic screwdriver. *LOL*
10
I've been a fan of Doctor Who since the early 1980s and I definitely remember watching Series 12.
10
Are gift bags not a thing in the UK? Despite being a woman myself, wrapping presents is not one of my best skills, so if it's not already in a box, I just place the gift inside some tissue paper and put it in a gift bag. Much easier than the man wrap.
10
Because Black women rodeo riders in the US are not common.
10
Is it just me or did those last few steps of Benedict's "Beyonce" walk turn into a Monty Python sketch?
9
+DreamerTheTimeLady Nah, the Doctor and Sherlock didn't get into an argument over what's better: a Mind Palace or a Mind TARDIS?
9
+Kate Mc Gowan That's so far ahead in time that I don't think even the Doctor has been there yet!
9
+Inediblehulk Okay, I'll grant that you could make an argument about the joke being sexist (in that you wouldn't hear the same joke being made about a male player), but where does the alleged racism come into play? Any female tennis player that has name recognition could've been used for that joke.
9
But apparently the BBC's YouTube channel is perfectly acceptable to watch?
