The way I see Brett's performance as Holmes is like this: pretend there's a sci-fi machine that can scan a book and create a flesh and blood version of a character in the book. Well, this machine scanned the Sherlock Holmes stories and spit out Jeremy Brett.

  14. lesyayandfilksongs   If you look at the clip that was released back in July, the music and the crowd scene at the beginning are very similar to the Granada series.  There'll probably be other shout-outs throughout the special. I do like your idea of Sherlock playing the Granada series theme on the violin.  That'd be so cool.

  18. *****   It's been way too long since I sat down and watched the series, so I may not be remembering things correctly, but doesn't she perform autopsies as well?  If so, wouldn't she have to be a medical doctor?  I had always assumed she was one because of that, but I'm going by how these things are usually done here in the States.
