  1. True, but the countries in question shouldn't be hypocrites about why they don't want to trade with specific nations. There are numerous other countries besides Cuba with poor human rights records and a lack of democracy, why do we have trading relationships with them and not Cuba?

Maybe I look at things with a more practical eye, but if I believed that massive voter fraud had occurred and I wanted to protest that, I'd be targeting those I believed were responsible (e.g., state and local election officials) instead of wasting my time traveling to DC. Plus, I wouldn't be protesting against them on a Saturday, when they aren't even in their offices.

However, considering the bitter history of the region, I would imagine that it would take something drastic (like maybe a significant economic downturn) for many current unionists to rethink their position of wanting to stay within the UK.

  43. You're right in that the media doesn't decide elections, but they do make informed guesses as to which candidate is going to win each state and, subsequently, the presidency. News outlets have been doing it for every election I can remember and even further back than that based on various videos of pre-1984 election coverage here on YouTube.
