  3. The suburbs of DC are already part of Maryland and Virginia. The statehood proposal would make a new state out of most of the current city and leave the core section where most of the federal buildings and offices are at as the federal district.

  4. You know as well as I do that if the majority of DC's residents were Trump supporters calling for statehood, people like you would be demanding Congress make DC a state.
