In other words, a student who pursues a nursing or engineering degree would be more likely to be offered financial aid than a student who wants to major in Art History.

Also, not every immigrant came during those early days or decided to go West. Many (especially those who came during the latter part of the 19th century) decided to stick to the larger cities (or, as you put it, "lands that were completely made into human habitat with roads etc."). Regardless, where and/or when our immigrant ancestors settled in this country wasn't my original point. My point was that the reasons why they came here weren't all that different from why people from Mexico and other Latin American countries want to come here now. By claiming the latter should stay in their home country and work to fix whatever problems they face is essentially saying that your own ancestors should never have come here. If they had stayed, you probably would never have existed.

In other words, electors from Florida wouldn't be able to vote for both Trump as President and DeSantis as Vice President because both men are also from Florida. Florida electors could vote for Trump for President and someone else for VP or vice versa, however. No political party is going to risk losing a state with as many Electoral College votes as Florida by nominating both a presidential and vice presidential candidate from that state.

In November, Republicans would have to gain 80 House seats and 17 Senate Seats to reach the two-thirds needed to override a veto (you know Biden would never sign a repeal of a law that he fought so hard for). The goal for the House is feasible, but not the Senate. There are only 14 Democratic Senate seats up for election this year and even if all of them were won by Republicans, they would still fall 3 seats short of the 67 votes needed to override a presidential veto. And all of the above is assuming that every Republican does vote for an override, which may not happen. There are some members of both parties that don't always goosestep with their colleagues.

You say, sure, but please don't harass, intimidate, or threaten the other guests. I agree to this, but as soon as I step foot in your door, guess what I start doing? At that point, don't you have the right to kick me out of your house for violating your rules? I would imagine that in most countries you would. The concept is essentially the same between Jones and the platforms that banned him. They claim he violated rules (rules that he had to agree to abide by before setting up his accounts, by the way) regarding behavior such as harassment, so as a private company, they were within their rights to remove him from their "property".

As long as US tax laws allow people and companies to take various deductions and perform other mumbo-jumbo to reduce their tax liability, it won't matter if Biden could instantaneously raise tax rates up to 99% for the wealthiest Americans and American businesses.   221. I just don't understand why people like you are so fixated on the death rates. That is not what the issue is with this particular virus. It's the hospitalization rate and the the number of people who are incapacitated (i.e., too sick to be out, but not sick enough to go to the hospital) and the real world consequences of those that are the problem.

  244. APE MAN  As far as I'm currently aware, the truth is that four planes were hijacked by al-Qaeda operatives on the morning of September 11, 2001. Two of those planes were flown into the World Trade Centers (both towers subsequently collapsing from the damage) in New York City, one was flown into the Pentagon, and one crashed in Pennsylvania after the passengers of that plane attempted to overpower the hijackers (original intended target of plane not known for certain, although generally believed to be in Washington, DC). However, I wasn't calling out the original poster simply for her belief in conspiracy theories. What I was criticizing was how she, and others like her, present said theories. The way most of these people communicate is like serving a steak dinner from a five star restaurant on a garbage can lid: what they have to say may have validity for all we know, but the presentation makes it unpalatable to most people.
