  1. If I'm remembering correctly from my days as a navy brat, the Commissary also didn't charge the local tax on what would be taxable items off base.

  2. I don't remember if this was in all Navy commissaries, but I remember lining up with my mom to wait for someone to tell you which register to go to. It would've been handy at the civilian grocery stores I've worked at.
