Comments by "retnavybrat" (@retnavybrat) on "How Third Party Candidate Could Impact US Election" video.
Claiming that third party candidates are "taking votes away" from establishment candidates is one good example as to why I've stopped voting for anyone who has a (D) or (R) after her/his name. It's pure arrogance to assume that a candidate is entitled to people's votes and if voters decide to vote for someone else, that other candidate "took the votes away" from the establishment candidate. If an establishment candidate can't persuade enough people to vote for her/him, that's a failure on his/her part, not the fault of the third party candidates.

@fabianarmilla8166 Although I do believe it's long past time for our country to have a discussion about the Electoral College and, if it's to be replaced, what process should replace it, there's no reason why a third party candidate can't win under the current system. The main problem is that unless the mainstream media is forced to pay attention to third party or independent candidates (like Perot in 1992), it refuses to cover their campaigns. If they were given coverage on par with the establishment parties, you'll see them become more competitive.

@fabianarmilla8166 "... its also the commission on presidential debates that don't allow third party candidates to be competitive." Very true. If I was organizing these debates, my rule would be to allow any candidate to participate that's on the ballot in enough states to hypothetically win the presidency. That rule would've resulted in four candidates at the debates this year: Biden, Hawkins (Green), Jorgensen (Libertarian), and Trump.
