  1. Even if the US changed the laws governing birthright citizenship to jus sanguinis only, new laws cannot be applied retroactively. Therefore, if your fantasy law were to come to pass, anyone born on US soil before the new law went into effect would still be a citizen from birth.

  4. The citizenship question hasn't been on the form that everyone is supposed to fill out since 1950. Yes, it has been on the more detailed questionnaires since then, but those don't go out to everybody and, if I'm understanding Trump's wishes correctly, he wants to ask everyone in the US about their citizenship status.

  7.  @MediaBuster  Looking back at my original post, I see where I may have been confusing. Yes, PBS and NPR do receive federal funds, but they aren't directly operated by government employees, unlike VOA.
