+Ross Greiner I believe it was mentioned at the beginning of this video that the focus was going to be on individual villains as opposed to entire races of baddies. : )

+Flaming Ninja Oddly enough, I was just thinking about that recently. I'm not sure if there is one word or trope to define Q, but I don't think "villain" is it. He doesn't gain anything (other than relief of his boredom) from most of his encounters with the Enterprise. In fact, the opposite is usually true. The crew (usually Picard) almost always comes away from encounters with Q with a better understanding of themselves and/or the universe around them.
