+Katie Baily Fox shouldn't have aired the ad at all. Would an ad praising the determination of a stalker have been accepted? How about an ad encouraging a drunk person to get behind the wheel of his/her vehicle? No? Why not? Because stalking and drunk driving are illegal and so was what the mother in the 84 Lumber ad was doing.

The Melissa McCarthy Kia ad should've been number two and the Hyundai ad featuring military personnel being able to watch the Super Bowl and interact with their families using virtual reality should've been number one.

+White Chocolate That Executive Order didn't address illegal immigration at all. The only people it affected were those who either already had the legal documents to come here or were in the process of obtaining them.

The 84 Lumber ad shouldn't be on here. Commending and encouraging illegal acts is not something that should be praised.

I loved the Tide ad!

+Mark Ukrainetz The phrase "separation of church and state" isn't in the Constitution. It was lifted from writings of Thomas Jefferson. Having said that, I do agree that sports and politics should not mix.

***** Not every immigrant is going to be arriving from an area that has access to English language education. Yes, there is the Internet, but even if an immigrant had access to that, he/she will still most likely arrive here without fluency in English. The only way most people truly learn a foreign language is if they have to use it on a regular basis and many non-native English speaking immigrants won't have that opportunity until they arrive here. And regarding hypothetical government sponsored ESL classes: Yes, the US doesn't have a de jure official language, but since the citizenship test requires a certain level of competency in English, I would imagine any language classes set up for immigrants by the Federal Government would have to teach English.

***** I think you missed the word, "hypothetical", in my post about government run language classes. My point wasn't whether or not I was in support of such classes, it was that if such classes existed, they would have to teach English because to become a citizen, immigrants have to show a level of proficiency in that language (despite the fact that the US has no official language). I also never said that I don't expect immigrants to make a good faith effort to learn as much as they can about their new country and new language (if applicable) before setting foot in it. However, I don't expect newly arrived immigrants to be experts on Americana, nor do I expect them to be as proficient in English as someone who was born and raised here. I got the impression that you do, but I don't think that's realistic. And why does the remainder of your response imply that I'm pro-illegal immigration? I don't believe I mentioned anything that could be interpreted that way.
