+Ka Leung Why? The last time a main character died (and stayed dead) was back in 2009 when the character Lindsay Duncan played in "The Waters of Mars" killed herself. I'm counting her as a main character only because she was credited as being the Doctor's companion for that special. If you don't consider her a main character, you have to go all the way back to 1982, when Adric died. Now if you want a show within the Whoniverse that likes to kill off its main characters, look no further than Torchwood . Out of its original six main characters, only two were left by Series Four.

+JamesLinton17 I'm only coming up with four: Katarina (1965), Sara Kingdom (1965), Adric (1982), and Adelaide Brooke (2009 special, "The Waters of Mars"). Who's the fifth?

+JamesLinton17 I'm going to have to cordially disagree with you about Amy and Rory. When I think about a show killing off characters, I assume that the cause of death is anything but death from old age. Unless Moffat ever claims otherwise, I'm assuming that Amy and Rory died of natural causes based off their ages on the gravestone.

The last time I can remember a main character on Doctor Who dying and staying dead was Adric back in 1982. Although I suppose you could count the character Lindsay Duncan played in "The Waters of Mars" in 2009 since she was credited as being the Doctor's companion for that episode. Torchwood , on the other hand, ended up killing off all but two of its original cast of characters.

None of the CSI series had a very high body count in regards to their main characters. In fifteen seasons, the original CSI lost three main characters (only two if you're not counting that girl that died in the pilot). In ten seasons, CSI: Miami lost two. And, in nine seasons, CSI: New York didn't lose any (Aiden wasn't a main character by the time she was murdered).
