  1. Regarding China's response to the infant formula contamination, even though I'm kind of conflicted about the death penalty, I have to give the Chinese government kudos for holding people accountable for incidents like that.

  4. +Mostly Harmless & +Dallas Mann If the Chinese government is to be believed, one of the men executed was supposed to have been the producer of nearly 800 tons of the contaminated powder. The other man supposedly mixed what he knew to be contaminated powder with milk, then sold it to baby formula companies. Personally, I have mixed feelings about the death penalty, but if all the above is true, I give the Chinese government credit for holding at least some people accountable for that tragedy.

  5. +Agusti Guerola Garcia Well, if the Chinese government is to be believed, one of the men executed over the contaminated baby formula was the man who produced the powder and the other man mixed the powder with milk and sold it to the baby formula company.

  6. ***** "Gummy bears are animal bones." Yeah, so is everything that's gelatin based (jello, the coating on medicine capsules, marshmallows, etc... ). Gelatin has been used since at least the Middle Ages. I'm shocked that you believe the use of gelatin is something recent.

  8. I know nothing about cars other than they get you from point A to Point B, but it seems like it would've just been easier for Volkswagen to make the engine compliant with emissions standards than to create very specific software to cheat the tests.
