  2. +Annekuss bruin I love Cumberbatch's portrayl of Holmes and think he is probably one of the best actors I've ever seen, but Brett was better as Holmes. The only way I can describe it is to say that if there was a machine that could scan a book and spit out a live human version of one of the characters, it would spit out Jeremy Brett after scanning the Sherlock Holmes stories.

  7. +Ronnie Moore I don't think Moffat and Gatiss ever claimed they were trying to make a faithful adaptation (as far as the stories are concerned). They take elements from the canon stories and some things from non-canon works and create new(ish) stories.

  8. +Vamshi Darisi I love Cumberbatch as Sherlock and as an actor, period. I think he is one of the best actors out there today. However, the highest he should be on any list of Sherlock portrayals is number two. Number one should always be Jeremy Brett.

  10. +Nabila Ghina Fadhila Here's something to ponder: Cumberbatch and Miller appeared together on stage in Frankenstein a few years back. If Cumberbatch is successful as Doctor Strange, he might just end up appearing with RDJ (Iron Man) in a Marvel movie within a few years. If that ends up being the case, then Miller and RDJ need to appear together in the same project at some point and then all the best known 21st century Sherlocks will have worked with each other.

  14. +arfmania Although I agree with you 100% about Brett being the best, I also love Cumberbatch's portrayal. I'm at a loss, however, as to why you think the modern series is trying to "fool everyone". The creators of that series have never said they are trying to do an exact interpretation of the Conan Doyle stories.
